This week we will see some words with similar spelling, but complete different meanings. These tricky words are called "False Cognates" or "False Friends."
In Spanish, when a woman is PREGNANT, we use the word... EMBARAZADA.
However, when someone feels EMBARRASSED, we use the word... AVERGONZADO.
EMBARAZADA = PREGNANT
AVERGONZADO = EMBARRASSED
La mujer embarazada estaba AVERGONZADA
The pregnant woman was EMBARRASSED
El doctor estaba AVERGONZADO porque no hablaba español
The doctor was EMBARRASSED because he did not speak Spanish
